Capcom Teases New Resident Evil Game and Exciting Updates on Other Titles
Capcom is working on a new Resident Evil game, as confirmed by Resident Evil 7 director Koshi Nakanishi during the “Capcom Next” livestream. Nakanishi acknowledged the difficulty in planning the next steps after Resident Evil 7 but expressed confidence in the new project. While he couldn’t share specifics yet, he hinted at a substantial development, raising anticipation for more details.
In addition to the exciting Resident Evil news, Capcom provided updates on several other titles. The Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is set for release on September 19th. This remaster promises enhanced graphics and various quality-of-life improvements, aiming to deliver an upgraded experience for fans of the original game.
Moreover, Capcom introduced Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, a new tower defense game inspired by Japanese mythology. The game is set to release on July 19th, and a demo is available now, offering players a taste of the unique setting and gameplay mechanics. The game has already garnered positive attention, with Summer Game Fest attendees, including Capcom’s colleague Ash Parrish, praising its innovative approach.
Another highlight from the livestream was the announcement of Resident Evil 7 for iOS, scheduled for launch on July 2nd. This version will include an auto-fire feature, making it easier to play with virtual controls. This adaptation aims to bring the intense Resident Evil 7 experience to mobile gamers, enhancing accessibility without compromising the game’s thrilling essence.
With these updates, Capcom continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering exciting and innovative gaming experiences across its franchises. Fans are eagerly awaiting more details on the new Resident Evil game and looking forward to the upcoming releases and enhancements.

New Grand Theft Auto Trailer Drops, 10 Years After Last Installment in Video Game Franchise. Here’s What to Know
On Monday, Rockstar Games unveiled the trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, the latest upcoming installment in the renowned video game series, marking over a decade since the release of Grand Theft Auto V. The 90-second video, initially leaked on X (Twitter) and released a day ahead of schedule, confirms long-speculated details and promises an exhilarating experience.
Rockstar’s succinct press release disclosed that Grand Theft Auto VI is set in the state of Leonida, featuring the neon-drenched streets of Vice City, a Miami-inspired locale known for the franchise’s trademark depictions of sex, drugs, violence, and gangs. Despite concerns about potential shifts in tone due to increased political sensitivity, Sam Houser, the founder of Rockstar Games, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”
Scheduled for a 2025 release, Grand Theft Auto VI is poised for success, following the massive popularity of its predecessor, which ranks as the third-best-selling video game in history, trailing only Minecraft and Tetris. However, the upcoming release occurs against the backdrop of heightened political polarization and cultural scrutiny in America.
The Grand Theft Auto franchise, named after the criminal offense, has evolved from a top-down shooting and driving spree to an immersive, cinematically-styled gaming experience. Notorious for its satirical take on U.S. tropes, the series has faced criticism for promoting violence and its negative depiction of women. Despite this, the franchise, owned by Rockstar Games since 1999, has sold a staggering 410 million copies to date.
The extended wait for Grand Theft Auto VI, officially confirmed in February 2022, is attributed to factors such as the extensive scope of the in-game world, continued success of previous franchise entries, and disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Players can expect significant changes in Grand Theft Auto VI, including the introduction of a playable female protagonist, a Latina character named Lucia. The trailer hints at a storyline involving Lucia and an as-yet-unnamed male character embarking on quests together. The game also boasts state-of-the-art graphics, aligning with the cinematic styles of titles like The Last of Us II and God of War: Ragnarok.
The highly anticipated trailer was initially slated for release at 9 a.m. ET on Dec. 5, but a leaked version surfaced on X a day earlier. Despite the leak, Rockstar swiftly removed the unauthorized video and officially released the trailer on YouTube.
Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch on next-generation consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, in 2025, with no specific release date provided by Take-Two Interactive Software, Rockstar Games’ parent company.
